Day 01: Yangon Arrival


Upon arrival at Yangon airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Visit the Sule pagoda and the bustling downtown area, followed by a visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda - the most outstanding pagoda, dominating the skyline of Yangon with a magical golden flash. Enjoy the beautiful sunset at the pagoda and take the best photos. Return to the hotel for rest and free to discover the city at night.

Day 02: Yangon - Golden Rock


After breakfast, drive 190 km east of Yangon to Kyaikhtiyo. On the way, we can stop to visit the Htaukkyant War Cemetary. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, be prepared to catch the magnificent Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock), a huge boulder entirely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. On top of this boulder is a glided pagoda, said to hold a strand of hair belonging to Buddha. Pilgrims normally have two options to go up the Golden Rock. One way is to walk along the twisting 10km, on the footpath through a bamboo forests. The second way is to travel to the rock by small open trucks, taking one hour. Overnight in Golden Rock.

Day 03: Bago - Yangon


Early in the morning, strolling around the hill sites for an unforgettable sunrise view of Golden Rock before returning to hotel for your breakfast. Continue your drive back to Yangon by coach. On the way, we stop to visit Bago, the ancient capital of Mon Kingdom in 15th century. The most highlights of Bago including Shwemawdaw Pagoda, Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha, Kyaikpun Pagoda with its 28 meter high huge Buddha Image, Myo Ma Local Market, Chinese Kwanyin Temple and the Kanbawzathardi Palace of King Bayinnaung. Then drive back to Yangon Yangon on the way sightseeing at Allied War Memorial Cemetery.

Day 04: Yangon - Bagan


This morning, fly to Bagan. Begin to visit the vibrant Nyaung Oo Market, the economic center of Bagan. Local people gather at this bustling market daily, to buy and sell a variety of goods, from fruit and vegetables to clothing, china, and lacquerware. Continue to the gold-plated Shwezigon Pagoda, Bagan’s greatest reliquary, built to house relics of the Buddha brought from abroad. From here, drive to the small village of Wetkyi-in to see the wonderful Kubyaukgyi Temple, renowned for its ancient murals. Your morning excursion also includes the Htilominlo Temple, which houses four Buddha figures on the ground floor and four more on the first floor. After lunch, continue your exploration of the city’s treasure trove of Buddhist art and architecture.

Day 05: Bagan - Mandalay Cultural Treasures


After breakfast, board a flight to Mandalay – the cultural and historic capital of Burma’s last kingdom and their monarchs in the past as well at the presence. Upon arrival, be treated to a full day of sightseeing by coach. The highlights of this day include Mahamuni Image Pagoda, Imperial Palace. After lunchtime, we will continues with another visit to the Shwenandaw Monastery which is well known for its exquisite wood carvings, followed by Atumashi Monastery and Kuthodaw pagoda - the world’s largest book with its 729 slabs of Marble engrave with Buddha scriptures. The evening ends with a stunning view treated at Mandalay Hill.

Day 06: Mandalay Ancient Capitals


After breakfast, a leisurely boat trip upstream to Mingun where the second largest ringing bell in the world will await you for this day. Once in Mingun, you also can see the Mingun Bell and Pahtodawgyi unfinished Pagoda, Hsinbyume. These attractions symbol the culturally wonderful values that Burma has to offer.
This afternoon we will travel to Ava, Amarapura to discover the Maha Aungmye Bonzan, Gabaya Monastery, Leaning Nam Myint Tower and the nearby attractions. Enjoy a walk over U Bein bridge, the longest teak wood bridge in Myanmar. Transfer to the airport for your flight to the ancient capital of Bagan, one of Asia’s most extraordinary destinations.

Day 07: Mandalay - Pindaya Caves


Fly to Heho in the Shan state in the morning. Upon arrival, drive to Pindaya to visit the fascinating Pindaya caves with more than 8,000 Buddha images. Later we get to know about the method the local people in Shan state make the umbrellas from cottage material. Overnight in Pindaya.

Day 08: Inle Lake - Indein ruined temples


Drive to Inle Lake in the morning. Skimming along the waterways in a long-tail boat, catch a first glimpse of floating gardens, stilt houses, and fishermen propelling their skiffs with one leg wrapped around an oar. Visit the infamous Phaung Daw U Pagoda, which enshrines five Buddha images believed to have been carried to this area by the widely-traveled 12thcentury King Alaungsithu then Nga Phe Chaung Monastery or Jumping Cat Monastery in other words. After lunch, we discover the ruined Indein, situated on the southwestern corner of the lake. Here you can wander through a typical lakeside village and observe local people in their daily activities. From the top of old Shwe Inn Dein, an impressive collection of ancient and unrestored Shan style stupas, enjoy a stunning view out across the lake and beyond.

Day 09: Inle Lake - Yangon


Return to Yangon in the morning. Continue Yangon half day sightseeing to Chauk Htat Gyi pagoda where houses a Colossal Recling Buddha, followed by a visit to local glass blowing and Gem Souvenir Centre and factory. Finally, we pass by at the Bogyoke (Scott) Market with hundreds of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems store. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 01 : Yangon Arrival


Upon your arrival in Yangon, you will be transferred to the hotel for check in. Visit Chauk Htat Gyi famed with its giant Reclining Buddha Image, Sule Pagoda, the Mahabandoola Independent Monument. We also spend time studying the normal life of local people, followed by a visit to Shwedagon Pagoda, the most revered pagoda in throughout Burma - well-known by its golden stupa, dominating skyline of Yangon.

Day 02: Yangon - Mandalay - Amarapura - Ava


Fly to Mandalay - the cultural and the commercial hub of the northern Burma. Visit Mahagundayone Monastery to know more about the daily life of the monks, then UBein Wooden Bridge across Taung Tha Man Lake. Proceed to Ava (Inwa) to do some sightseeing including Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery, the hand-made workshop industry producing lacquer alms for Monk. The next destination is Sagaing with Kaung Mu Daw Pagoda (which is the copy of Mahaceti Pagoda in Siri Lanka) and Sagaing Hill. Then drive to Mandalay and check in at the hotel.

Day 03: Mingun - Mandalay Royal Palace


Board an upstream boat to Mingun. Visit Patohdawgyi Unfinished Pagoda, Mingun Bell, the world's second largest hanging bronze bells and Myatheindan (Hsinbyume) Pagoda. Sail back to Mandalay to visit Mahamuni Image, Zegyo Market.
After lunchtime, we explore the Royal Palace and its nearby attractions, covering Atumahsi Monastery, Shwenandaw Monastery and Kuthodaw which is considerred as the world's largest book of many stone slabs on which is inscribed the whole Buddhist Literature. Admire the panoramic view of the city from Mandalay Hill.

Day 04: Mandalay - Monywa


Drive to Monywa in the morning. En route we stop in Monywee Kayemon village to visit a blacksmith and a local cottage industry to explore the tactics they make slippers. Visit the cave chambers of Pho Win Daung and Shwe Ba Daung. The Po Win Hills houses a system of nearly 500 sandstone caves, with some 450,000 paintings, statues and carvings.

Day 05: Monywa - Pakokku - Bagan


This morning, we visit the colourful Thanbuddhyi Pagoda which is home to more than 500,000 images of Buddha and the Hiaungdawmu Buddha, the second largest reclining Buddha in Burma. In the afternoon, we enjoy a scenic boat ride along the Irrawaddy River to Bagan, via Pakkoku, the Burma's bustling tobacco trading centre. Arrive at Bagan in the evening.

We spend the second day in Bagan mingle into the normal life of the local as well as exploring the other temples of Bagan which consists of more than 2500 temples and pagodas. Day 08: Bagan - Heho - Pindaya


After breakfast, transfer to the airport for flight to Heho. Drive to Pindaya through the Shan Plateau, through fields of mountain rice. Visit magnificent Pindaya caves set in a limestone ridge overlooking a picturesque lake where thousands ofdifferent types of Buddha images are a display in the various cave chambers, then Shwe U Min Pagoda. Continue visit some local houses where families produce Shan paper and parasols. Overnight in Pindaya.

Day 09: Pindaya - Phaung Daw Oo pagoda


Drive to Inle Lake after breakfast. Continue on by road to Inle Lake. Day 10: Indein ruined temples


Boating to western part of the lake where we will be encountered by the ruined Indein, situated on the southwestern corner of the lake. Here you can wander through a typical lakeside village and observe local people in their daily activities. From the top of old Shwe Inn Dein, an impressive collection of ancient and unrestored Shan style stupas, enjoy a stunning view out across the lake and beyond.
We then ride our boat to the Nampan and Innpawkhone villages. Here we get an ideal chance to see some traditional cigar making and silk weaving, and hopefully some local fishermen practicing their uniquely distinctive rowing technique.

Day 11: Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon


Fly back to Yangon in the morning. On the way to hotel, you can pay a visit to Mahapasana Cave (if situation permits) where Sixth Buddhist Synod was held, then Kaba Aye Pagoda (World Peace Pagoda) and Karaweik Royal Barge. Free at leisure. Inthe afternoon, we will visit the Sule Pagoda, Chinatown and the downtown area before passing by the Bogyoke Market (Scotts market ) with hundreds of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems store.

Day 02: Twante Pottery Villages


Drive overland to Twante town via Hlaing Thar Yar Bridge. This town is famous for beautiful, old-fashioned potteries and kilns. All pottery works are done manually and with high carefulness. Visit the attractions around the town. After lunchtime, take a private boat to Yangon jetty. The boat trip takes around 2 hours via Twante canal. Arrive back in Yangon jetty then being transferred to your hotel.

This day we venture outside to visit Sale (1.5 hours south of Bagan) which lies on the banks of Irrawaddy river. We can see the beautiful Sale Yoke Sone Monastery with its beautiful wood carvings and motifs then Thar Ta Na Yaung Chi Monastery. Rural life can be seen around town.

Day 05: Bagan Local Life


After breakfast, arrive in Taung Bi farming village to discover the local life and how to make their rice-noodle. We spend the rest of the day exploring the other temples of Bagan which consists of more than 2500 temples and pagodas. Day 06: Mount Popa - Kalaw Overland


Proceed overland to Kalaw, a charming former hill station with pine forests, en route we stop off to visit Mt. Popa, which is regarded as the abode of "Nat" (spirits) culture in Burma. Mt. Popa is an extinct volcano with with its shrines dedicated to animist spirits known as “Nats”. Climb up 777 steps to the shrine at the top to see spectacular views over the Bagan plain and surrounding regions. Continue the journey to Kalaw through the plains and later up into mountains. Arrive then check in the hotel.

Day 07: Kalaw Trekking


After breakfast, walk to Taung Ni Village (9 km - nearly 3 hours per way) to see the Palaung ethnic people. On the way, we will pass through tea and orange plantations at the Peinnebin Village. Arrive in Taung Ni Village then have lunch at the local house. In the afternoon, we will take around to know about the local life before heading back to Kalaw.

Day 08: Kalaw - Pindaya Caves - Inle Lake


Explore the best attractions of this marvellous hill town, including the gold lacquered bamboo Buddha of Nee Paya, the Catholic church of Christ the King before driving to Pindaya to visit the fascinating Pindaya caves with more than 8,000 Buddha images. Later we get to know about the method the local people in Shan state make the umbrellas from cottage material.
In the afternoon continue by car to Inle Lake where our boatman awaits to transfer you to the resort.

This day we boat to the end of the lake, visiting Sagar village where is administrated by the Pa-O ethnic people. Day 11: Inle Lake - Kyaing Tong Trekking


Fly to Kyaing Tong, the capital of Eastern Shan State and the home to the Khun, Akha, Shan, Wa and Lahu ethnic groups. Trek to explore the town and its attractions nearby, including the Naung Tone Lake.

Day 12: Kyaing Tong Trekking


Get up early in the morning then attend the colourful local market in Kyaing Tong. Return to your hotel for your breakfast.
After breakfast, proceed by car to Loimwe where a number of colonial buildings and a century old Catholic Church exist. Continue your trek to visit to nearby ethnic villages including Ann, Wa, Lahu tribes. Return to Kyaing Tong in the late afternoon.

Day 13: Kyaing Tong Departure

Day 02: Yangon – Fly to Putao


Transfer to the Yangon airport for domestic flight to Putao. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to Putao Trekking Guest house. After refreshment, proceed to Mulashidi to enjoy scenic beauty of suspension bridge over creek. Dinner at local restaurant.

Day 03: Putao – Upper Shangaung Village – Wasundum


After breakfast, visit the attractive Putao market with its colourful local tribes such as Rawan, Lisu Kachin. After that, depart by jeep to upper Shangaung (16 km, approx 1 hour). This village houses both Lisu and Rawan tribes. Enjoy some treks to Wasundum village (19 km, approx 6 hours) through Mt. Shangaung at approx 4600 feet (1400 meters) by the shoulder of Mt. Slimatdin 6000 feet (1830 meters). The first day is a good test for this trek, as we have to ascend to 4600 feet (1400 meters) and then descend back to 3000 feet (914 meters) with a distance of 12 miles. Wasundum is a small Rawan village situates by Namlan creek. Have a picnic lunch on the way and dinner will be served with delicious local style.

Day 04: Wasang Dam - Ziya Village


After breakfast leave the village for Ziyadum. First cross Namro Creek to Awadum village (6.4 km, approx 2 hours). Awadum village is mainly inhabited by Lisu tribe and separate in to two by a large paddy field. Here we cross a suspension bridge that span Namlang creek to Kalang (Rawan tribe). On a sunny day, we will find blazing Mt. Phonyin Razi just a hand reach away. After a short lunch stop continue to Ziyadum (5.6 km, approx 2 hours) through deeper evergreen forest. Ziyadum, situate at an altitude of 3440 feet (1050 meters) is the most northwestern and last frontier village in the Putao region, mainly inhabited by Rawan tribe. There will be plenty of time to settle down once we arrive at Ziyadum. It is recommended to visit Ziya creek for a fantastic sunset view with blazing Snow Mountains in the west which spark in to steady flowing Ziya creek. A pre dinner cocktail will be served over a bonfire on the deck that overview Ziya creek.

Day 05: Ziya - Chaung Sone Village


After breakfast, proceed to Chaung Sone by trekking and hiking (10-mile). Lunch will be served on the way. In the evening, arrive at Chaung Sone. Dinner and free at the leisure.

Day 08: Base Camp and environs

Day 1: Yangon


Upon arrival at Yangon airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Visit the Sule pagoda and the bustling downtown area, taking in the rich colonial architecture and bustling streets and markets. In the afternoon we make our way to the Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda, which is home to a huge Colossal Reclining Buddha. The highlight of the day is a visit to the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, the most outstanding and revered Buddhist pagoda in Burma, whose golden stupa dominates the skyline of Yangon. This is also the most ideal spot from which to watch the sunset in Yangon. Return to the hotel for rest and free to discover the city at night.

Day 2: Yangon – Bagan Temples


Fly to Bagan. Begin your tour today with the visit to the vibrant Nyaung Oo Market, the economic center of Bagan. Local people gather at this bustling market daily, to buy and sell a variety of goods, from fruit and vegetables to clothing, china, and lacquerware. Continue to the gold-plated Shwezigon Pagoda, Bagan’s greatest reliquary, built to house relics of the Buddha brought from abroad. From here, drive to the small village of Wetkyi-in to see the wonderful Kubyaukgyi Temple, renowned for its ancient murals, Ananda temple, one of the most well-preserved monuments in entire Bagan. Your morning excursion also includes the Htilominlo Temple, which houses four Buddha figures on the ground floor and four more on the first floor. After lunch, continue your exploration of the city’s treasure trove of Buddhist art and architecture then a visit to the lacquarware factory. The highlight of this day is the sunset from the second highest temple the Shwenandaw.

Day 03: Balloon Ride - Cruise to Mandalay


Get up early in the morning then admire the beauty of Bagan from space when you float on a Balloon Ride. After that, being transferred to Gawwein Jetty to embark on a charming cruise, going upstream to Mandalay. As the cruise makes its way to Mandalay, you can see the myriad of spectacular scenes along the river. In the late afternoon, we stop off way to visit a local village then discover the local life. The delicious dinner will be served onboard, added with a dance and drama performance.

Day 04: Cruise to Mandalay


This day we halt enroute to visit Yandabo Pottery village to see the pottery making process at various stages. Yandabo is the place where the Peace Yandabo Treaty was signed between the British and Royal Burmese House-hold of Ava. Moor overnight at the Ywar Thit Gyi or Pauk Myaing Pauk Taw village nearby, a few miles away from Ava Bridge.

Day 05: Mandalay Sightseeing


Get up early in the morning to admire the sunrise on the river. The cruise will disembark at Sagaing Jetty (Thursday only) or Gawwein jetty (Sunday Only) at around 09.30/10.00 hrs. The highlights of this day include Mahamuni Image Pagoda. After lunchtime, we will continues with another visit to the Imperial Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery which is well known for its exquisite wood carvings, followed by Atumashi Monastery and Kuthodaw pagoda - the world’s largest book with its 729 slabs of Marble engrave with Buddha scriptures. The evening ends with a stunning view treated at Mandalay Hill.

Day 06: Maymyo (Pyin Oo Lwin) Excursion


Leave Mandalay for Maymyo, the former British hill station, now called Pyin Oo Lwin, after a scenic two-hour drive. You will find out many reminders of the colonial era still present now in Pyin Oo Lwin, including brick and timber houses. Lay back on a leisurely traditional horse and carriage ride through the town and walk around to see the beautiful recently renovated Botanical Gardens. You also have chance to visit the local market in the center of the town near to the clock tower. After lunchtime, we will pay a visit to Peik Chin Myaung Cave, followed by a stop at a winemaking workshop before returning by road to Mandalay.

Day 07: Mandalay – Pindaya Caves - Nyaungshwe


Fly to Heho in the Shan state in the morning. Upon arrival, drive to Pindaya to visit the fascinating Pindaya caves with more than 8,000 Buddha images. Later we get to know about the method the local people in Shan state make the umbrellas from cottage material. Overnight in Pindaya. A scenic drive takes you to Nyaungshwe where you take a 30-minute private boat to the hotel. Overnight in Inle Lake

Day 08: Inle Lake - Indein


Skimming along the waterways in a long-tail boat, catch a first glimpse of floating gardens, stilt houses, and fishermen propelling their skiffs with one leg wrapped around an oar. Visit the infamous Phaung Daw U Pagoda, which enshrines five Buddha images believed to have been carried to this area by the widely-traveled 12thcentury King Alaungsithu. After lunch, we discover the ruined Indein, situated on the southwestern corner of the lake. Here you can wander through a typical lakeside village and observe local people in their daily activities. From the top of old Shwe Inn Dein, an impressive collection of ancient and unrestored Shan style stupas, enjoy a stunning view out across the lake and beyond.

Day 09: Inle – Yangon


Return to Yangon then continue to visit Botahtaung Pagoda and the busy 79-year old Scott market with its large collection of local handicrafts, souvenirs and other items. Day 01: Yangon Arrival

Day 02: Yangon - Bagan Heritages

Day 03: Balloon Ride - Bagan Local Life


Admire the beauty of Bagan from the space when floating on Balloon Ride. Spend the remainder of the day continuing to explore Bagan which consists of more than 2500 temples and pagodas and mingle with the daily life of the locals. This archaeological site brings us to the scared history of ancient Bagan capital with the development of Buddhism. Visit archaeological museum. As we travel further into the land of temple spires, Gawdamgangyi, and Manuha, Kaweyai villages. We continue to visit the lacquarware factory in the afternoon.
The highlight of this day is the sunset from the second highest temple the Shwenandaw. Enjoy a traditional puppet show at your hotel.

Day 04: Mt. Popa Excursion


Head southeast to Mt. Popa in the morning. Mt. Popa is well-known as a collection of 37 magical spirits both feared and honored by some Burmese people and the nat museum, which is home to 37 life-size nat statues sculpted from teak. Hike up for 777 steps to the summit for an exotic scene throughout the Bagan plain. Enjoy lunch in the restaurant with a stunning panoramic view to the Popa summit that stands straight from the central plain. Back to Bagan for a sunset boat cruise, on the way stop at a cottage industry village to learn the local product as well as to see the collection of juice made from the palm trees, and its conversed type to brown sugar.

Day 05: Bagan – Mandalay – Mingun – Royal Palace


Depart Bagan for Mandalay by air in the morning. Start your sightseeing today with a boat ride upstream to Mingun, home to Uncomplete Wall, Sandamuni pagoda, Hsinbyume and Mingun ringing bell. Our local expert will be pleased to introduce you the life of people who live on the banks of Irrawaddy river. After lunch, we will discover the royal Mandalay vestiges and relics covering Mahamuni Image, Imperial Palace, Golden Palace Monastery and Kuthodaw Pagoda also known as the world biggest book. Day 06: Sagaing – Ava – Amarapura


This day we will travel outside of the city to the Buddha land of Sagaing. This religion hub is responsible for entire education for monks with different level in Burma. After visiting Sagaing University, we will continue to visit Buddha Cave and U Min Thonze Pagoda, Soon U Pon Nya Shin Pagoda, Tupayon temple where you can enjoy the great panoramic view of Mandalay. In the afternoon, we will travel to Ava, Amarapura to discover the Maha Aungmye Bonzan, Gabaya Monastery, Leaning Nam Myint Tower and the nearby attractions. Enjoy a walk over U Bein bridge, the longest teak wood bridge in Burma (Myanmar).

Day 07: Mandalay – Heho – Pindaya – Nyaungshwe


Early morning drive to the airport for the flight to Heho. Upon arrival, enjoy a scenic drive to Pindaya. This mountainous area is famous for its cave which is full of Buddha statues. As you travel further into Shan state, you will encounter different ethnic minorities. Take a breathtaking walk to visit local villages, experience the way local people plan tea, rice, flowers. We then continue the trip with 2 hour drive to Nyang Shwe town then check in the resort. Free at leisure.

Day 08: Nyaungshwe – Taunggyi – Kakku – Inle Lake


This day you will have a very interesting visit to Taunggyi and Kakku. On the way you can visit Shwe Yan Pyay in Nyaungshwe. After 1 and a half, you will reach Taunggyi, the capital of Shan State then visit the local market. Continue to Kakku, the non-touristic attraction with many stupas of Myanmar and Shan style located harmoniously. Return to Inle Lake. On the way back to Inle Lake, you can visit the Htan Cave which is a small copy of Pindaya and Indein.

Day 1 Arrival in Yangon


Welcome to the golden land of Burma !

Day 2 Yangon city tour


After breakfast, we start exploring the centre of Yangon with a guided walk through colonial buildings, Emmanuel Church, Sule Pagoda and enjoy a styled high tea in Strand hotel or mingle with local in the traditional Burmese tea shop.
In the afternoon, we continue your sightseeing from Chautatkhgyi pagoda, famed for the biggest reclining Buddha statue in Myanmar, followed by a pleasant walk in royal place where you will admire Karaweik Palace and the green park of Kandawgyi. Day 3 Yangon – Inle Lake sightseeing


This morning, we board a flight to Heho, you will enjoy a scenic drive to Nyang Shwe from where you will embark on a beautiful boat trip to explore the life of Intha people whose image exposes vividly through one leg rower.
Your time will be spent on exploring the traditional work of making boat, weaving silk, black smith and making cigar in Inle Lake. The boat will take you through different lush floating vegetation and get to know the local life.

Day 4 Inle Lake - Sagar - Inle lake


Located on the southern bank of Inle, Sagar is home to the beautiful pagoda ruins which are unlike the rest of stupas or moments in Inle. Day 5  Inle Lake – Indein Market & Village - Mandalay


We leave your resort this morning by boat to reach the rotating market of Indein which attracts different hill tribes in Shan State including Pa-O, Padaung, Intha people who come to the market in their traditional customs. Your guide will will demonstrate the uniqueness of Indein goods which are exposed in the fair.
After the market, we proceed to Indein ruin, the most famous site to experience the highlights of regional Buddhism then visit Pa O villages. Heading back to Heho for the flight to Mandalay.

Day 5 Inle Lake - Indein Market - Yangon


We leave your resort this morning by boat to reach the rotating market of Indein which attracts different hill tribes in Shan State including Pa-O, Padaung, Intha people who come to the market in their traditional customs. Your guide will will demonstrate the uniqueness of Indein goods which are exposed in the fair.
After the market, we proceed to Indein ruin, the most famous site to experience the highlights of regional Buddhism then visit Pa O villages. Taking the flight back to Yangon. Transfer to your hotel

Day 6 Yangon city tour

Burma Off the Beaten Track

An extensive Burma tour lasting 18 days overlaying an immense vary of Burma's absolute best and most 'off the beaten track' destinations. Day 1 Yangon Arrival


Arrive in Yangon, the world hub, and spend the night right here before your onward flight the next day.

Day 2 Yangon - Keng Tung


Take a brief flight east to Keng Tung. This most japanese part of Shan state has had the least Burmese influence over time and so is an interesting region to discover far from central Burma and the Ayewaddy delta, because the culture and language here is still just like its neighbours across the border in Thailand. The jap Shan state is slightly faraway and isolated and so ethnic and linguistic range is a key feature of the world, and you are going to spend some time exploring probably the most completely different tribal villages in the area.

Day 3 Keng Tung Sightseeing

We will then pay a visit to the colorful Nyaung U Market and continue the day with visits to the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan including Shwezigon Pagoda; the prototype for later Myanmar pagodas built by King Anawrahta, Kyansitha Umin; a tunnel with interesting paintings, Htilominlo Temple; noted for its plaster carvings and one of the largest temple of Bagan, Thatbyinnyu Temple; the highest building on the Bagan plain and Ananda temple, an architectural masterpiece resembling a Greek Cross.
After lunch, visit to one of Myanmar most treasured handicrafts, a lacquer-ware workshop.  Then continue to Manuha Temple; built in Mon style in 1059 and Nanpaya temple; a unique sandstone monument.  Next you will explore the Myingaba Gu Byaukgyi Temple; a temple noted worthy for its mural paintings of Jataka scenes under the protection of UNESCO and go to watch the sunset over the Shwesandaw Pagoda.

Day 11 Mount Popa


In case you are , on the 2nd day in Bagan we can include a trek to the summit of Mount Popa: mountain climbing Mount Popa brings you shut to some of Burma's most lovely wildlife, including unique vines and plant life, butterflies, gem-like beetles and monkeys too.

Day 12 Bagan - Pindaya

Day 1 Yangon


International arrivals in Rangoon. Transfer to ship moored in the heart of colonial 'Downtown' Yangon. Afternoon sight seeing and visit to the spectacular Shwedagon Pagoda for sunset.

Day 2 Irrawaddy Delta


Sail with the first tide up the Rangoon River and enter the Twante Canal, which connects the Yangon River with the Irrawaddy Delta. We stop on route at the Twante village to visit the potteries there, famed for their enormous water pots. Arrive Yandoon for evening walk in this delightful Delta town.

Day 3 Danupyu


Continue our exploration of Delta creeks and stop at Donabyu, another little known town with a busy port and bustling markets. In the First Anglo Burmese War of 1825 the Burmese general Maha-Bandoola was defeated here following a long and near disastrous campaign by the British. Moor overnight off Henzada.

Day 4 Manaugn and Tonbo


Sailing all day we stop to visit the markets and see old colonial buildings in the sleepy Delta town of Manaung and now enter the Irrawaddy River itself. We continue to moor for the night at Tonbo.

Day 5 Prome


Stop at the famous A Kauk Taung to explore the spectacular stone carving on the cliff. We reach Prome by early afternoon and travel by coach to the 5th-8th century archaeological site of Thiri-ya-kittiya, former centre of the Pyu civilization with a fascinating museum of early Buddhist artifacts and sculpture.

Day 6 Thayetmyo Frontier Post


This pleasant colonial town once guarded the border between Royal Myanmar and British Myanmar following the 2nd Anglo Myanma War of 1855. Many of the buildings including the covered market date from this period. Thayet also boasts the oldest golf course in Myanmar (1885). We visit the market, see the colonial houses and ride out by horse cart to the golf course, passing trough the former British botanical garden.

Day 7 MinhLa Forts


Minhla and Gwechaung - We visit the two Italian built forts constructed to keep the British at bay from Royal Myanmar. We climb the Gwechaung hill for the view. These were captured by the British in the 3rd Anglo Myanma War. The fight for the Minhla redoubt was the only serious action in the war and the death of a young subaltern inspired Kipling to write a poem.

Day 8 Magwe Gold Bricks


We ride Trishaws to reach the magnificent Myat-thalon Pagoda, constructed with solid gold bricks. Of interest are the many nat shrines and hermitages within the temple precincts.

Day 9 Sale


Here we visit the Yout-saun-kyaung monastery with its spectacular wood carvings; we also explore an area of splendid colonial-style houses and continue sailing upstream.

Day 10 Pagan


In the morning the ship will moor at Tan Chi Taung mountain and ascend by WWII jeep. In the afternoon, we tour a selection of the 3,000 listed monuments at this World Heritage Site, Pagan.

Day 11 Pagan - Theingone Monastery


Further explorations of Pagan. We cast off at lunchtime and proceed to the Ohn Ne Kyaung village to see the local life in this typical riverside community.

Day 12 Yandabo


This small rural village specialises in pot making. We visit the Pandaw School and the new dispensary both built with past donations from Pandaw passengers.

Day 13 Ava and Amarapura old Capitals


We explore these ancient capitals visiting the teak Bagaya Kyaung, Menu Ok-kyaung. We cross the famous U Bein Bridge to see the paintings in a temple and come back in sampan.

Day 14 Sagaing Hills and Mandalay


The true delight of Sagaing lies in its 1.000 hermitages and sanctuaries, rich in woodcarving and religious art. In the afternoon we tour central Mandalay visiting the Mahamuni Pagoda and Shwe-im-bin teak carved monastery. We see tapestry making and other traditional crafts.

Day 15 Mandalay


Disembark the ship between 8.00 am - 9.00 am at Shwe Kyet Yet Jetty, Mandalay.

Day 4 Bagan - Mandalay by a short flight


Breakfast a the hotel then we will take a short flight to the last capital of Myanmar, Mandalay City.
Our very first discovery of Mandalay starts from Amarapura, known as the former kingdom of Inwa. It is time to watch streams of monks queing for lunch and studying. Our visit will be followed with a stroll over Ubein Bridge, the longest teakwood bridge in Myanmar. Enjoy a manual boat ride on Maha Ganayon Kyaung lake.

Return to Bagan for a haunted sunset cruise along the Irrawaddy River. and transfer back to you hotel by the late evening.

Day 5 Bagan - Yangon by flight

Day 1 Yangon arrival

Day 2 Yangon - Heho - Inle Lake by flight


This morning, transfer to Yangon Airport for your flight to Heho.  Here you will enjoy a one-hour scenic drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway village to the lovely Inle Lake.
A private local motorboat will escort you to your luxurious hotel for check in.  Along the way, pass stilted villages, the  one leg-rowing Intha fishermen, and floating gardens anchored to the lake’s bottom with bamboo poles.
Check in to your hotel, a resort nestled near the lake’s shores. Your stilted bungalow offers spectacular views from the balconies.
After freshening up, a private boat will take you out on the lake to visit and discover the local traditional work such as making boat, black smith, silk weaving and enjoy the uniqueness of Jumping Cat pagoda.
If time permits, we will stop for a coffee break (your own' account)  at Inthar Heritage House. Not only are the cakes and coffees delicious, but the house also has a superb display of information about traditional Inthar culture and history.
Return to your hotel in time for sunset. This evening enjoy a traditional Shan Style dinner at hotel, served on lacquer plates.

Day 3 Inle lake - boat trip to Indein


Option: should you wish to wake up early, we will visit the lake’s morning market on our way to Indein. The market rotates location on a 5-day basis and is a colourful spectacle with vendors gathering from the villages around the lake to buy and sell their wares.
This morning, enjoy a relaxing boat trip along a small canal to the Pa-oh village of Indein.  Explore the area on foot, strolling around the village, visiting a local school, and wander through the beautiful Alaung Sitthou area.  Alaung Sitthou is filled with picturesque ancient stupas and has magnificent views of the lake below.
Lunch today is a highlight of many people’s visit to Inle Lake. We’ll stop at a village for a private lunch at an Intha house. Enjoy traditional Inthar dishes as you sit on cushions around a low table, a unique chance to learn about and experience Inthar culture firsthand.
Return by boat to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon at your resort.

Day 4  Inle - Nyaung Shwe - Bagan by a short flight


Enjoy your breakfast at resort, check out of your hotel and transfer by boat back to the town of Nyaung Shwe. We’ll visit the local monasteries and nunneries as well as the colourful morning market where dozens of stalls are set up selling flowers, products and other goods.
Enjoy lunch at Viewpoint Restaurant, widely regarded as the best Shan food in Myanmar.
Then take a 40 minutes by car again back to  Heho Airport  for a short  flight to Bagan. Upon arrival, meet our tour guide and driver and transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Day 5  Bagan Tour


Starting to discover this temples land by a visit to the Nyaung U Market where dozens of vendors come to sell their fresh produce and products.  The market is at its busiest early in the morning as the locals come to do their shopping. This is a great opportunity to observe the daily lifestyle of the friendly locals. Then continue to the glittering Shwezigon Pagoda that is not really far away from the market, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas.
Next to Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi, a cave temple with exquisite jatakas mural paintings.  Continue to the elegant Htilominlo Temple, noted for its fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations.
Take a break midday to escape the heat and enjoy lunch at your leisure.
This afternoon visit the New Bagan area and one of its many lacquer-ware workshops.  Observing the whole procedure traditional technique of making these handcrafted products . The process takes incredible skill and patience and Bagan’s craftsmen are well renowned for their fantastic lacquer products.
In the afternoon, get on a boat trip along the Irrawaddy river. Enjoy a cocktail and a stunning view of Bagan while cruising.
The remainder of this evening is at your leisure.

Day 6 Bagan - Yangon by a flight


Today, we keep going on sightseeing at Ananda temple, an architectural masterpiece of the early-style temple.  Nearby, Ananda Okkyaung is one of the few surviving brick monasteries from the early Bagan period.
and take a horse carriage to travel among the temples starting at Ananda and passing dozens of monuments. Stop as you wish to take photos or explore hidden temples. The slower pace of the horse cart is a relaxing way to see the wonders of Bagan from a different perspective.
After lunch at your leisure, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

Day 7  Yangon departure


This morning head to Bogyoke Market, also referred to as Scott Market, for its colonial architecture and inner cobblestone streets. Browse the aisles of handmade goods, looking for the perfect souvenir of your Myanmar holiday. (note: Closed on Mondays and public holidays)
The remainder of today is at your leisure for additional sight seeing or shopping before transferring to the airport for your onward flight.

Day 1 Arrival in Yangon by flight


Upon arrival in Yangon, you will receive a warm welcome of our tour guide and he will help you transfer to the hotel for check-in. Firstly, we drive one around Yangon city to contemplate the colonial style buildings, the Chinatown area and the Indian quarter. Then we will stop at Sule Zedi where a sacred hair relic of Lord Buddha and other relics are enshrined. Our second stop is Chaukhtatgy Temple which has one of the biggest and most graceful Reclining Buddha statues in South East Asia. Afterward, we boat alongside Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake to take some photos before moving ahead to Shwedagon Pagoda. Shwedagon Pagoda is the most popular and well-known pagoda in Yangon. It is a great cone-shaped Buddhist monument that crowns a hill about one mile north of the Cantonment. Annually, many Myanmar people come here to pray and make offerings. Stay overnight in Yangon.

Day 2 Yangon to Bagan by flight


After a morning flight from Yangon Airport, we will have a full day of sightseeing Bagan. Home to more than 2000 temples, Bagan’s beauty and historical significance is unsurpassed. To start the day, we visit Shwezigon pagoda- the most important reliquary Shrine in Bagan, a centre of Prayer and reflection for the new Theravada faith King Anawarahta. Then we move to Kansitta “Cave” temple which served as a place of lodging for monks. Its long dark corridors are painted with murals, some of which depict the Mongul soldiers. Equally beautiful, Gubyaukgyi “cave” temple is famous for fine frescoes of “jataka tales”. Our last stop in the morning is Htilominlo – the last Bamar style temple built in Bagan, with old murals and friezes.

In the afternoon, we will explore Ananda Temple which is considered to be one of the most surviving masterpieces of the Mon architecture and also known as the finest, largest, best preserved of the Bagan temples. Next, we will visit Dhamayangyi – a massive-looking temple dating from end of 12th century. The temple has long been famous for its interlocking mortar less brickwork. Afterward, we head to Mingalarzedi pagoda lying close to the Ayeyrwaddy River bank. Because of being built in the late period before the kingdom’s decline, the pagoda represents the final flowering of Bagan’s architectural skills.
To complete the day, we visit Shwesandaw Stupa to enjoy the beautiful sunset and get an overview of Bagan’s temples and the poetic Ayeyarwady River.

Day 3 Bagan by car


In the early morning, we take a sunrise flight over the plains of Bagan. From above looking down, Bagan is beautiful as a watercolor picture. Along two banks of the gentle Ayeyarwady River are small villages hiding in the bamboo trees. The top of golden pagodas glistens under the sunlight. The flight surely gives you interesting and unheard-of experience of the country of Myanmar.

Day 4 Bagan – Heho – Inle lake by flight


In the early morning, we take a flight to Heho. From here, we drive to Inle Lake via the Beautiful landscape of Shan state and make check- in hotel procedure. Our hotel is located on the surface of Inle Lake by a motorized boat.
Before moving to some highlights of Inle Lake, we will boat around the Lake to get its overall view. Inle Lake has long been considered “Nenice of Myanmar”. On the surface of the lake, you can see floating villages, floating gardens, floating markets, several traditional villages such as forging, weaving and so on. The most special sight on Inle Lake is floating gardens where the local use the water hyacinth combining with seaweed on the bottom of the lake to keep the soil to grow more vegetables such as tomatoes, mint……. . Up and down the lake have many temples, monasteries with golden pinnacles brightening on the sunlight.
Our first stop is Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda where houses the five Buddha images. These images are covered with gold in order to make visitors not be able to see the original form. Leave Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, we continue to Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery to see well- trained jumping cats, before turning back to your hotel

Day 5 Inle  - Indein – Inle by boat

This morning, we will enjoy boat trip over the lake and cruise long the small stream to one of the most unique market on Inle lake which happens 5 days in different villages in Inlayarea : the Indein market. There is no better chance to behold the scene of Pa-O, Padang tribes in their traditional dresses.
Our guide will offer you some visit to local habitat of Pa-O people in Indein.
Back to your resort for your relaxation and enjoy the sunset.

Day 6 Inle – Heho – Yangon by flight


After breakfast at hotel, we will transfer back to Heho and take a flight to Yangon. At Intel’ Yangon Airport, we fly back to home countries.
